Where the
Tasman Sea collides with ribbons of sand, whitewashed clean by restless
waves. Where soaring sea eagles cast delicate shadows on pink granite
peaks, basking in the afternoon glow. This is Freycinet. And this
is where you will find a world to experience; to relax and to enjoy.
The world
of Freycinet Lodge is a resort like no other. Here, comfort and convenience
harmonise with the natural wonders of Freycinet National Park. Here,
it is possible to enjoy the delights of fresh Tasmanian produce while
watching dolphins play beneath the deck overlooking Great Oyster Bay.
Or sit on a lofty pink boulder at dawn, watching the sky change from
cobalt through to coral, smoked orange and pale blue.
The Lodge features 60 cabins tastefully appointed in a secluded bushland
setting. Cabins are one and two bedroom some having spas. All feature
queen size beds, private balcony, individual heating and fans and
are serviced daily.
If your idea of a wilderness escape includes hiking, swimming, fishing
and diving but with fine food and accommodation on tap, then Freycinet
Lodge will be right up your nature alley. Being the only lodge within
the Freycinet National Park means that everything from leisurely 500
metre walks along pristine beaches to 30 kilometre hikes are all available
at your doorstep.
And what a
doorstep it is! There is no highrise here, just subtle timber cabins
hidden among the she-oaks. Each cabin has huge picture windows and
private decks taking in the bush and water views - and
with no TVs or phones, a tranquil stay is assured. Reward yourself
with one of the beautifully presented Wineglass Premier Spa Cabins
- well worth the extra cost.
The main lodge
features structured Tasmanian wine tasting afternoons overlooking
Great Oyster Bay and sensational sunsets from the Hazards Bar. The
best way to finish the day? Fine dining cuisine in the Bay Restaurant
followed by a torchlight wildlife tour. As far removed from camping
as you can get!
